How to Apply

Make a small contribution
+ +

+One important step is to get familiar with the LLVM Project development workflow and tools used. Make one small contribution to the project to show that you can checkout the source, build the application, make changes, and submit a patch using our code review tool called Phabricator. Please see our Contributor's Guide with instructions on how to contribute to the LLVM Project. +

If you are having trouble coming up with a small contribution, we recommend updating documentation as it involves many of the same steps as code contributions. +

+We have a list of Open Projects that you can choose from. Each project listing has a description of the project, difficulty rating, length, and how to contact the mentors. If you have any questions about the project, you should ask the mentor(s). +

Your proposal should be discussed with your mentor prior to submitting it to GSOC. You can find the contact's for each mentor on the Open Projects List. +

Submit your application

+Once the application period has opened (April 4, 2022 18:00 UTC, please always confirm on the GSOC Website), you have to submit your application on the Google Summer of Code website. Your application must be written in English and follow the guidance mentioned above. +

The deadline for applications is on April 18. 2022 18:00. We highly encourage you to start your application early as it will take time to review your proposal with mentors and prepare a thorough proposal. +
